The St. Francis DeSales High School hockey program will be conducting a hockey camp on July 22, 2007 for hockey players currently in grades 4 through 8. The camp is for all those players interested in playing high school hockey and will include plenty of information for their parents. Registration starts at 4:00 PM and is only $10.

The camp will include an informational session about St. Francis DeSales High School, the Stallions hockey program and high school hockey in Ohio. The on ice session will be conducted by the St. Francis DeSales varsity hockey coaching staff and will cover the skills required to be an effective high school hockey player.

Join us for this exciting ice hockey camp at the Ohio State University Ice Rink and get all your questions about St. Francis DeSales High School, Stallions Hockey and high school hockey answered. As well as some great on ice fun.

THE CAMP AGENDA
4:00PM - Registration and welcoming including light snack.
4:40PM - Presentation on the Stallions Hockey program, high school hockey in Columbus Ohio, St. Francis DeSales Hockey and other athletics at the high school.
5:00PM - Get all your questions answered about DeSales HS and Stallions Hockey with this question and answer period.
5:10PM - Pre-ice stretch for those players participating in the camp. (Those players participating in the camp are expected to be dressed in warm-up clothing and ready to stretch immediately following the preceding informational session.)
5:25PM - Those players participating in the camp will have 20 minutes following the stretching period to change into their on-ice gear. (Full equipment including a mouth guard is required for all on-ice participation)
5:45PM - Skills Camp
Parent presentation on team including Q & A
7:00PM - Intermission
7:10PM - Purple & White Scrimmage
7:45PM - Cool down stretch conducted by coaches.
8:00PM - Pizza and closing presentation including Q & A and the awarding of the Camp MVP.

The on-ice skills camp will cover the skills and related power skating skills listed below. Mastering these skills is required to be an effective high school hockey player.

(There will be a brief discussion and clinic on properly giving and receiving body checks. All head to head drills will be without contact).
