The Stallions ice hockey coaches understand their function goes beyond the ice rink. They understand it is to also educate students through participation in interscholastic competition. The rink serves as a classroom, practices provide skills, and competition allows for the pursuit of excellence.
Our focus is to be an important and valuable member of the community which prepares each member of the Stallions Hockey program spiritually, intellectually, aesthetically, and socially to live a positive, productive life.

CORE PRINCIPALS
The five character principals that serve as the foundation of the Stallions Hockey program are; brotherhood, responsibility, integrity, character and knowledge. And hockey is the conduit through which these character attributes are instilled.
TEAM/PLAYER PRIORITIES
- Faith
- Family
- Academics
- Hockey
- Rest of the stuff
The Stallions hockey program is designed to enhance academic achievement and will never interfere with opportunities for academic success. With that said, great time and thought goes into scheduling hockey events while giving each player adequate time for additional activities. It is up to the student-athlete to use their personal responsibility to schedule their time effectively.
In order to maintain a balance between academics and hockey there is a system of checks and balances in effect which allows the student to take part in an all hockey functions without impeding his/her academic success.
Coaches Code of Conduct
- I will be reasonable when scheduling games and practices, remembering that young people have other interests and obligations.
- I will teach my athletes to play fairly and to respect the rules, officials and opponents.
- I will ensure that all athletes get equal instruction, support and opportunities.
- I will not ridicule my athletes for making mistakes or performing poorly. I will remember that young people play to have fun and must be encouraged to have confidence in themselves.
- I will remember that young people need a coach they can respect. I will be generous with praise and set a good example.
- I will make sure that equipment and facilities are safe and match the athletes' ages and abilities.
- I will obtain proper training and continue to upgrade my coaching skills.
