The Stallions ice hockey program is not about win at any cost, it goes beyond just being an ice hockey team. It is a program about hard work in the class room and hard work and dedication at practice. It is a program where the student athletes learn and develop more then just hockey skills.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Program Rules
There are no listed rules for the team, just expectations. A player can do no wrong as long as they follow the character principals that serve as the foundation of the Stallions ice hockey program. These five character principals are; you and your teammates are a brotherhood, maintain personal responsibility, maintain integrity and character to yourself and to the program and always strive for knowledge.
Team Priorities
This is a serious program with a defined set of goals, but with that stated players' faith, family and academics should always come before the program. Players are also encouraged to participate in other sports and activities outside of hockey during the off-season.
- Faith
- Family
- Academics
- Stallions Ice Hockey Program
- The Rest of the stuff
The season runs from November through the State's frozen four in March. Off-ice strength and speed training is a part of the team's weekly schedule year-round, there are summer skates throughout July and August and conditioning skates throughout September and October.
Organzied Team Activity (OTA)
An OTA is a non-required event organized by the SIHP. All events listed as an OTA are not mandatory and will not affect ice-time during the season.
OTAs are available to players as a tool to get bigger, faster and stronger.
We as coaches realize our players play other sports, travel for summer vacation and have summer jobs that may conflict with OTAs. Yet, those that can be there should be there.
Try-Outs
- Head Coach's discretion.
- No tryouts; practice till cut.
- No cuts after 11/19/07
- Monetary refunds for players cut, minus ice time used.
- 24 skaters and 3 goalies are optimum.
Playing Time
Deciding playing time is always the head coach's discretion. With consideration to league rules, a game eligibility criterion for individual players is as follows:
- Those with best attendance including games, practices, off ice work-outs and team meetings.
- Those with the highest skill level.
- All things being equal, those with seniority dress.
- We dress a maximum of 20 players including goalkeepers.
- Once a game roster is set, best players can expect to play the most
- Members of the Purple & White lines can expect to play.
- Players who are eligible, pay and have the skill necessary to make the team are guaranteed participation.
Practice is considered participation. Game time is a privilege that no individual player is guaranteed.
Purple & White Lines
Following the conclusion of the team's last practice of the week, the coaching staff will post a list of two groups; Purple & White. Being on the list is a reward for hard work and dedication to the team on the ice.
Program Cost
The cost for participating with the Stallions ice Hockey program is approximately $1450 for the season. There may also be some additional travel expenses.
Players are required to provide their own equipment including helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, protective cup, protective hockey pants, shin pads and skates. In addition:
- The helmet is to be white with a full face cage or visor. The suggested color of the face cage is chrome. All straps and buckles must be in working order.
- Two game ready sticks
- Extra set of skate laces
- Two mouth guards
- Skates are to be sharpened and game ready for all on ice events.
- Hockey gloves must have palms intact. The suggested color of the gloves is solid black.
Players will be issued a practice jersey, 2 game jerseys, 2 pairs of game hockey socks and team breezers (hockey pant shells) for their use while within the program.
It is a goal of the Stallions Ice Hockey Booster Association that no player who has the desire and skill to participate with the program be denied the opportunity to participate for financial reasons alone. Please contact the General Manager for more information.
